Twitterpated

I need some help here. I need everyone to leave comments on this post.
Will you PLEASE tell me what all the hype is about Twitter? I have had several friends ask me if I tweet. I do have a Facebook account and seem to enjoy it. I have this blog and seem to enjoy it. Do I really need another thing to keep up to date with my friends? And if I do why is Twitter any better than Facebook or a blog?

I'm anxious to read comments on this. So far the only thing I've seen that makes it worthwhile is if you sign up for some contests where they tweet you winners or codes or something. But I'm sure I'm missing something. I guess I don't think people care enough about what I'm doing moment to moment to want that many updates. Maybe I'm wrong.

Okay here's my thoughts...

Blog's you can share stories and pictures and more in depth thoughts than FB or Twitter.

FB is great to reconnect with old family members or HS alum's...and that's it. Unless you enjoy doing the quizzes (that I am positive were written by HS kids!) :-)

Twitter: if you like to update your status on FB then you will LOVE twitter. Because that's pretty much what it is. And then you can comment on someone's status (just like FB) and chat that way. You can also win things (I just won Gary's Father's Day gift!!!) Just by sharing my favorite movie on Family Video's twitter page.

I like Twitter better than FB, however it took me awhile to get into Twitter. I just did not get it. HOwever FB is becoming too much like MySpace in my opinion so that is why I deactivated my acct. Saying that, I do/did enjoy hearing how all friends/family members and acquaintanes were doing, so I may reactivate it after time.

However Twitter can be addictive! So really it is just another social networking place where you can only type so many words in a space to get your point across.

I like it b/c its just that short and sweet. No quizzes, no pics, no spam, no etc...

Hope that helps! :-)

I don't really care for it. I actually hate coming up with a status on FB so if that's what I'm doing with twitter...I don't enjoy it. Maybe I'm missing something too, but as for now, I'm just skipping the twitter thing. I know it's supposed to be big with the Celeb's... :O)

I signed up but never went back. I guess I just don't get it. My kids say it is stupid. :)

I've been wondering the same thing, Laura. I just feel like my facebook and blog are enough. But, twitter has been on my mind for the past couple of months....
