Toad convention

Today I was putting rocks in the bottom of the window wells. I dumped one bag. Before I dumped the second bag I looked down in the window well and saw 5 Toads. I called Emmitt and his friend over and they jumped down there and got them all out they ended up finding 7. I guess we won't have a bug problem. ( at least around the basement windows.)

Whack-a-mole

On the first beautiful day we had this summer the kids had their friends over to play. We have a field of alfalfa in our back yard. The kids were playing hide and seek in the tall grass. It was so funny to see them pop up and down it really did look like the game whack-a-mole. I wish I had taken a video of it. Yes we did check for ticks after, and only found one.

Mother's Day

Okay, so I'm a little late posting this. What a wonderful mother's day I had. I left Nauvoo Friday afternoon with my mom and my daughter, Constance, to visit my grandma in Michigan. We had a blast. My Grandma is so funny. Satruday all four of us went shopping. We met up with my uncle and his wife saturday night and took grandma out to dinner. On Sunday we went to church and drove home. It was so much fun having four generations together for a weekend. It was a quick trip but such a great time.

When we got home Jason and Emmitt were at Jason's mom's house for dinner, but they left me a gift. A gift certificate for an hour massage. I can't wait to use it.

Game 2

This morning Emmitt had another game, Wow was it cold and windy. They Won this one 11-0 against Hamilton. Our boys played so well. Emmitt got walked on all 3 at bats. On his last at bat he actually got a home run on a walk. I know that's not possible, but it did happen. On the last pitch the ball got past the catcher so Emmitt took off for first and the boy on third came in to still home. When the catcher got the ball it was too late to get the boy out at home so he threw it to first to get Emmitt out. The first baseman didn't get the ball and Emmitt took off for Second then Third. They over threw the ball at third so Emmitt takes off to steal home and made it. Way to steal Emmitt.

Take me out to the ball game

Tonight was Emmitt's and Jason's first game of the season. We won, what a great way to start. Emmitt was so excited he woke up this morning and got dressed, ate breakfast, brushed his teeth, and even took the trash out, all before I even got up. You know when that happens it's going to be a good day. He got his uniform on and was ready for the game by 4:00 and the game didn't even start 'till 7:00. Yes he was excited. It was a good game the whole team played well. Emmitt got one single and walked twice, and struck out a couple of times also. (but we won't dwell on that) Jason is a good coach and enjoys working with the boys. We'll keep you up to date as the season progresses.
